I can’t believe I spent so long building an Image Map! I won’t do it again unless I have to. Now J can stop complaining that I don’t upload full images.
I went to Suki Sushi with the excos for a gathering on Sunday.
As usual, it was full of laughter.

After the buffet lunch, we went walking about. We ended up at Borders soon after.
Mini Rant: At Borders, I saw, a whole range of books on sale (3 for the price of 2). I started looking for the book I was trying to find – “Like the Flowing River” by Paulo Coelho. Paulo Coelho’s entire bibliography (even if it wasn’t the entire, there was many, and I mean many) was displayed there – yes, everything – save for that book.
I wonder how much effort it would take to find one book like that. It’s not an old book, just published barely 3 years ago in 2006. I mean, they even had The Alchemist, The Devil and Miss Prym and The Valkyries there, which were far older than that book (okay fine, using Alchemist as a comparison is horrible, since that’s his best-selling book). Arrrrrrrrgh, annoying!

Holidays are here – or “holidays” I would say.
If I’ve anything to grouse about the holiday programme lined up, it’s the time I need to report to school – 9am. I was looking forward to sleeping in, but it just turned out to be the same time as the usual school term. Waking up at 7am ftw.
I was thinking if the title should have been “Je déteste la Français“. Kidding, I like the language – it’s just a pain to learn an entirely new language unless you’re living in an environment where you’re forced to speak it.
—
I met J after lessons today since he so happened to be around with the guys for a competition briefing/lecture. We had lunch at the canteen, then went off to the Library because he wanted to visit it. Since we were there, I took the chance to look for the book I’ve been trying to find – “Like the Flowing River” – before heading to AMK Hub.
Amazingly, there was one copy of the book left. I borrowed it – for reasons I’ve yet to find out yet.
We had milk tea from Koi Cafe before heading over to the Times Bookshop Warehouse Sale at the Industrial Park.
—
I think the Warehouse Sale was more for selling away books from lesser known authors whom produce lesser known books. There also seemed to be leftover rejected stock for the more popular books going at $5. I think the popular books (rejected stock with minor defects) already got taken away.
There was a minute section for the newer books, but they were only going at a 20% off price. The selection there was pityful. I saw Dorothy Koomson’s books there, “Marshmallows for Breakfast” and “Goodnight, Beautiful” – was tempted to buy the latter since I read the former and liked it, but I told myself not to.
I walked around trying to find the book – “Like the Flowing River” – and in a not so suprising outcome, to no avail. I bought The Five People You Meet In Heaven by Mitch Albom instead, and that cost $11.
After that we went back to AMK Hub to meet S and then we went back after meeting the guys who just finished their briefing.

Je déteste les Français test demain.
I went to watch Hannah Montana on Tuesday night, with J and J – and I really liked the movie!
Screencap from the Trailer – picture stolen from J
I’ve never watched Hannah Montana before, not even the previous episodes of it.
The only reason why it caught my attention was because of the Trailers that were screened before Movies, and if I just had to find one reason to grouse about the movie, that would be the reason.
I felt that the movie didn’t really reflect what was shown in the Trailer. In fact, it was quite different. For example, from the Trailer, I’d have expected the movie to show her picking a choice, since they’d said “she’s had the best of both worlds, now she has to choose one”, but the movie never reflected so, they merely showed her exposing her double life identity, never making a choice.
Notwithstanding the differences between the Trailer and the Movie itself, the movie didn’t disappoint.
The storyline was sweet and touching ♥. I especially liked the songs in the movie – Hoedown Throwdown, Dream, You’ll Always Find Your Way Back Home, The Climb, Butterfly Fly Away – they’re all nice!
I’m listening to the OST over and over again
.

—
Before the movie, I went to Woodlands Library to study with J, then J came around dinner time and we went to Pastamania to eat. We shared a 12″ Hawaiian Pizza, used my $10 Pizza Voucher, so the cost ended up at about $5 per person.
Over the course of Dinner, I realised, I can’t contribute anything into their conversation at all, or maybe I just have nothing to talk about at all. Disaster.
The problem could have just been with me, hmm…
It makes me feel like not attending Friday.
Anyway, I bought a new hard plastic card holder for my lanyard since the soft plastic one tore

“Life’s a climb, but the view is great.”
Extremely overdue posts that I wanted to make the past week and have only done it halfway or something, time to complete them…
I can’t remember what happened the past week, geez, save for that it was extremely tiring and had put me in a state of lassitude.

Ubin Outing and dinner at Manpuku (Sunday)
As a testament of how tired or busy I was, I uploaded the pictures of the outing the next day, but I never had the time to even post it – maybe save for on Facebook. I downloaded A’s pictures, but I never had time to put it into the collage too :\. Here they are, nevertheless:

Pulau Ubin Outing (click to view big picture, 3MB)
I woke up at 10:45am on Sunday, overslept. To make things worst, I was supposed to meet J and A at Marymount MRT Station to make our way there together at 10:45am. My wake up call was essentially a SMS from L that he’ll meet us at Serangoon. Literally jumped out of bed, took a quick shower, changed and rushed down, all in 10 minutes and then made a run towards the MRT Station.
Packing your bags at the very last minute isn’t really a good idea (though I never intended to, but I overslept, so…), I forgot to bring a camera along, so I depended on my phone’s throughout the outing and then I also forgot several other stuff, like a bringing along change of clothes – luckily it didn’t turn out that I really needed it. I brought the packet of candy I bought the day before there, thank goodness it didn’t melt, but the chocolates I brought did, under the sweltering hot weather.
We reached Changi Village at about 12 noon, then had our lunch there while waiting for another 4 people to arrive, and we only left mainland at about 2.30pm o.O.
We rented our bicycles from a shop inside, and the bicycle’s sucked – time to find another shop to rent from next time, I’ve got 2 blacklisted shops on the list so far. The bicycle I got, the chains rusted or something and I had to cycle all the way back to change one, and most of the bicycle’s were horribly squeaky and were hard to cycle.
The sun was shining strongly throughout the outing, and we were scrambling for shelters whenever we could. We cycled towards the bicycle tracks at first, then went over to Chek Jawa just before it closed to enjoy the sea breeze. Even though, the tide was high by then, I still liked the breeze.
We went back to the town at 6.30pm and returned the bicycles.
After cycling at Pulau Ubin, it was time for dinner. We took the bum-boat ride back to mainland Singapore, then took 29 all the way to Tampines interchange.

Dinner at Manpuku, Tampines 1 (click to view big picture, 3MB)
I’ve never stepped into Tampines 1 since it’s opening – never found a need to anyway, so that day was my first time in that mall. I still didn’t walk around and see what was there anyway.
A brought us to this place to have our dinner. Manpuku has an à la carte concept and you just used a “credit card” they gave you to buy your food, then you paid for all that you’ve purchased when you leave.
The dinner was pretty nice. After that A and I went home via 969, then changed to 853 and 851.
My shoulders ended up aching for almost the whole of Monday, I’m pretty sure it had to do with the cycling and the way I slept.

Koi Cafe/Aliens VS Monsters 3D (Tuesday / Wednesday)
I bought the tickets with A on Tuesday after lessons at AMK Hub for the movie outing on Wednesday. We found out that the discounts were not applicable to 3D Movie Tickets, hence they were $10. A decided not to go then. I’ve not watched a 3D Movie in ages, I think the last time was probably 10 years back at the Science Center as a kid, so I wanted to give it a try again!
After buying the tickets, we had dinner at S11.
Wednesday had been a particularly tiring day for me. I only slept at nearly 4am and had to wake up at 8am to prepare for lessons. Through the night, I was rushing a website out, and was preparing for the next day as I had to hand up some templates.
On Wednesday after lessons, I met C for lunch at Paya Lebar first. After lunch, she went off to do her own things while I went off to loiter before the movie. I wanted to study in the area while waiting for her to finish her things, but I decided to take buses around and sleep on it, since I was completely exhausted due to the lack of sleep.
I took 24 from Paya Lebar, to the airport, before arranging with J to meet at NYJC. I fell asleep on 24 several times. I then took 53 to NYJC and fell asleep on it too. We then took 133 to AMK from there and ate at KFC while chatting. J left at about 5pm, then I walked over to the library since it was getting a little bit too crowded at KFC to hog a place there.
I found a spot at the library which I sat at for the next 1 hour to 2 hours and studied there, successfully finishing a (long-overdue) tutorial. I’ve been missing out on them
Everyone started arriving at about 7pm, we then had dinner at S11, this time the bigger one instead of the smaller one. I wanted to have just dessert for dinner, but the dessert stall there stopped selling dessert :\.
We walked over to the newly opened Koi Cafe branch at AMK after dinner to meet A. He had been wanting to introduce it to us.
The Bubble Tea isn’t that cheap – my cup of Pearl Milk Tea cost $2.40. However, it really tasted nice and different from the others. There seemed to be an extraordinary large amount of pearls inside too. I think I’ll still stick to the $1 ones however.

Our Movie Tickets
After that we went into the cinema at about 9:10pm. They gave us one pair of 3D Glasses each.
Pair of 3D Glasses from Cathay!
I felt that the movie was a great experience, everything really felt like it was within your reach and that you could literally pluck the stars! The movie was hilarious too, and kept us laughing throughout. There were some very touching scenes to it too!
Amazingly, for a 9:20pm movie on a Wednesday night that’d have only ended at 11pm, the theatre was crowded. I’m sure it was because of the school holidays! The movie ended at a little past 11pm, I took the train home because I was lazy to walk to the bus stop, which was a distance away since they locked all the gates, leaving only one exit.
I was really unlucky however – I received the maximum possible waiting times at all stations (7 minutes on the North South Line and 7 minutes on the Circle Line) and the trip home took some 35 to 40 minutes. Taking a bus would have been only about 10-20 minutes and would have been the same by train if not for waiting.

A Project Completed… (Thursday)
I finally finished a project – www.agif.asia – it took me about 2-3 weeks to develop this and I still have another one to do with them! I probably need to set up my portfolio page soon, I haven’t got around to doing it.
The boss treated the people whom worked on the website for lunch. After classes on Thursday, I took a cab down to their office and introduced the functions of the website to them. We then went over to Jumbo to eat and had a scrumptious lunch there. I never knew that there was a Jumbo branch at the National Stadium, and on top of that there was literally nobody at the restaurant at lunch hours, the waitress there were just specially catering to you.
After lunch, I went back to their office and cleared up the tiny bit of bugs that I needed to fix, as well as introducing the core of the website to them.
I went over to the National Library at around 4pm to meet J after I was done. I’ve never stepped into the National Library before ever since it moved to Bugis.
I never knew that it was some “Thank the Customers Day” there until J told me, and they had prepared cakes and tea for everyone.

After visiting the NLB, we went to the recently opened Iluma to walk around and take a look at the new mall before going home.

Friday
I met up with J wanting to watch a movie after lessons at Cineleisure.
We ended up not watching it because we couldn’t get tickets for it, particularly because J didn’t manage to buy the tickets at a discounted rate (the staff claimed that there weren’t student tickets after 5pm when it’s supposed to be 6pm!) and was waiting for me to come down, but I only arrived at 5pm, just when the movie started.
So we decided to just walk around Cineleisure until 7pm before going home.
We had dessert too!
Mango Snow Ice and Mango Pudding!

Okay, that was the entire week.
I realised that 100 grams of sweets is actually quite a lot. It’s been a long time since I bought sweets from the shops where you can pick and choose the candy that you want, and then pay for it according to the weight.
I caught the 2:35pm movie Terminator Salvation with S and ZY today. Being not-a-terminator fan, I had no idea what the storyline was about, or the sequels, nor the prequels. It was still an interesting movie however, looking at the ways the animations were put across.
We bought 3 huge bottles (1.5l, I suppose) of Apple/Mixed Fruit Juices from Cold Storage that cost $1.00 o.O. I’m still left with half a bottle as of now. Then I bought another 100 over grams of sweets, all the sour ones, which cost me some $2.65, and I’m still left with almost the same amount I’ve bought now.
—
Earlier in the morning, I overslept by about 45 minutes, and I only woke up when S called me to ask “Where Am I”. Quickly showered and rushed out without breakfast – in record time, I reached school 30 minutes after I woke up. Reached there still half asleep to sit in on a meeting – wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, the frying.
Finished a Practical during the meeting since I was too bored and I was simply just listening anyway.
Then it was lunch at Long John Silvers, and the movie.
—
I found something interesting on the table while I was back at school. JR had some interesting notice up for the students wanting to reset their passwords – particularly picking on the usage of the English Language. It was hilarious to read the notice – differentiating between the usage of May and Can.
—
After the movie, we went home. I fell asleep immediately and napped for 3 hours, and now I’m sleepy again.
—
I’m going to Ubin tomorrow!
