When I’m Not Interested in Something…

I’m really not!

…and if I’m being asked to do something that I’m not interested in but I have to do it, I don’t perform my best and I will not perform my best. Especially when they come with extremely unreasonable terms, and the benefit to effort ratio is almost equal to the size of bacterium.

On a completely unrelated note, I’m so glad another project’s done…two more on my hands now! And I stepped into Ion for the first time ever last Sunday with A and Jyes, I dislike going to town.

Up

I caught Up today with A at AMK Hub. We met at round 6.30pm, bought tickets for the 8pm show since the 7.20pm one was packed already.

Of course, earlier in the morning and afternoon, I met up with my group for our project meeting at Changi Airport. We had lunch at Popeyes before walking around the entire airport to find a place to sit down and discuss our project. When we finally found a seat, we met a group of people there too, doing the same project, from the same school, just a different course.

Whilst we realised that almost immediately we stepped into the place, they took almost an hour, and needed to see me login to the school portal before they realised so :P . When they finally noticed it, they were going loudly: “Eh, go ask them what course they’re from leh” and pushing that job to each other, we were just sniggering and laughing away :D .

Anyway, they seem like a nice group of people :) .

With presentation week coming up, and the coming exams…I hope things will all go just fine.

Back to the movie, it was superb! I was supposed to watch it with J and some other friends today, but I couldn’t make it because of the project meeting.

There was a pre-movie clip that was nothing but hilarious :D .

The storyline of Up was so sweet and so touching, I really liked it. The animations were just great, and the music came in nicely too.

Now only if such things would happen in real life too…

Cockroaches

I read a tip at Lifehacker earlier this morning on how to get rid of cockroaches:

Kathy writes about how to control a pest problem:

Nobody wants to admit they have a roach problem. Here, in Las Vegas, when one neighbor has the pest control guy spray their property, the ugly bugs will run to the next nearest property to get out of the heat. For some people, for one reason or another, spraying isn’t an option.

Here’s a safe approach to getting rid of roaches. Get yourself an empty glass jar. A washed out mayo jar will do. Dump your used coffee grounds into the jar; at least, enough to cover the bottom. Put the jar outside. You’ll need to sit the jar on the ground and tip it at a slight angle to lean against a wall or something. Don’t throw the lid away.

The roaches will not be able to resist the coffee’s aroma. They’ll climb up the wall and down into the jar to get to the grounds. Because the glass is slippery, they won’t be able to get out. If there are any roaches around, it won’t take long before you find your jar filling up. Get your gloves, put the lid on tight and toss the whole thing.

Just be sure you use your jar outside. You don’t want to lure the creepy crawlers into your house to get rid of them. Oh, a couple of spoons of wet instant coffee will work just as well.

On first glance, having read only the first paragraph, I thought – what a great idea! I thought I’d do it to get rid of these pesky little pests.

On second glance, after reading the next few paragraphs only 10 minutes later – no it isn’t. The cockroaches will still come, but get attracted to the jar instead, and then stay inside. In other words, what we’ll end up with is an entire jar of cockroaches – entirely disgusting :\.

And there is a cockroach on my toilet’s lid now, argh :\.

Tea Party Outing

Tea Party Outing with A and M, with a nice little Swine Flu Badge from WY

I met WY earlier in the afternoon at Dhoby Ghaut to get a nice little Swine Flu badge from her. After that, I headed off to Buona Vista to have lunch with A. After lunch, we made our way to Tea Party and met M there – spending the most of the afternoon there. As for why there’s only 2 cups there, it’s beacuse M came later, and I didn’t take a picture of her drink :D . The drink I had (on the right, behind the swine flu badge) sucked, it was bitter, even after adding 3 entire packets of sugar – I decided to live with it after adding the 3 packets, I don’t want to die of diabetes.

After that, we went to Orchard Central to take a walk at the new shopping mall.

By evening, we went back, And I spent the night watching 百万大歌星 instead of studying :)well done!
